Thoughtful Thursday…A world without chronic disease and increased health span...?

Sometimes we find that which we seek. For me that is understanding longevity. Longevity. It is a recent interest I’ve been learning more about. It is part of my journey to explore, expand and apply it in my own life and share with a community. So when I had the opportunity to sign-up to watch a 9-part documentary series on human longevity, it took me no time to say yes, count me in! The Human Longevity Project has traveled the globe over a two-year period looking at lifestyle, environmental and physiological components to avoid chronic disease, increase health span, and slow down aging in a modern world. They believe that we can look to the world’s healthiest populations for answers. "People who not only lived into their 90s, 100s, and beyond…but are also remarkably healthy, happy and virtually free from chronic disease.” What a world that would be... This project has a noble mission: To change the paradigm of health and to create a better future for us, our children, and for generations to come. ... the mechanisms behind why certain people live longer, and relatively free of disease, will be revealed to the public. As of this writing, the documentary series hasn’t been released yet. I’m anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. If we can move towards avoiding chronic disease, increasing our health span, and slowing down aging, I think we get closer to living ‘on purpose’ and 'with purpose’.
